If your compost is not transferring down to the red cure tray, it means that the mixing chamber is overloaded. Sometimes you can loosen any caked-up compost along the walls of the mixing chamber, using a spoon (never use sharp objects). Empty the red cure tray in the lower chamber, as that could prevent the compost from transferring. Try the transfer again by pressing the OK button. If the Wait light comes on, hold the OK button down for 5 seconds to override the wait.
If that doesn't work, then remove one third to one half of the compost from the mixing chamber. Try the transfer again by pressing the OK button. If the Wait light comes on, hold the OK button down for 5 seconds to override the wait. If that still doesn't work, then remove all of the compost from the mixing chamber, and clean out any compost that may be wedged around the trap door and preventing it from opening. The trap door is the curved metal sheet at the bottom of the mixing chamber. You may find that a hard or stringy item is blocking the trap door, or some very dry compost is the cause of the problem.
In the future, transfer the compost before the mixing chamber is completely full. Two thirds full is the ideal level.
If the compost will not transfer after trying each of the above steps, then please send us email as follows so we can investigate further:
- send us email
- include your serial number (located on the back of the machine)
- describe your exact situation, including any lights or noises you observe
